Media requirements

Formats, sizes and aspect ratios each network accepts, and what we convert.

Rules for every upload

  • The maximum upload size is 200 MB per file.
  • Images can be JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF where the destination supports them.
  • Videos can be MP4, MOV, or WebM where the destination supports them.
  • PNG images are converted to JPEG when required for compatibility.
  • Provider processing can still reject a file after Systemly's validation passes.

Dimensions, aspect ratio, and duration

Systemly validates the file type, count, and size, but it does not crop media into a platform-specific aspect ratio. Prepare media to the destination's current recommended dimensions and duration. Networks can change those rules or apply additional account and post-type limits without notice.

Keep media available during processing

Some providers fetch the file from Systemly after the initial request. Do not remove or replace an uploaded asset while a post is Scheduled or Processing. For the same reason, social media uploads should not contain private documents or confidential information.
